Roundabout produced this musical revue with first preview on October 13, 1993, opening night November 17, 1993, and closed January 1, 1994. The production was conceived and directed by Walter Bobbie as a Broadway tribute to the successful song writing team Rodgers and Hammerstein, and was first staged at Rainbow and Stars the New York cabaret spot located at 30 Rockefeller Plaza on the 65th Floor (the venue closed in 1998).

Directed by Walter Bobbie, with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. Musical direction and arrangements by Fred Wells, orchestrations by Michael Gibson and Jonathan Tunick, and music coordination by Seymour Red Press. Set designs by Tony Walton, costume design by Martin Pakledinaz, lighting design by Natasha Katz, and sound by Tony Meola.

Starring Victoria Clark, Jason Graae, Alyson Reed, Martin Vidnovic and Lynne Wintersteller.

The production was nominated for a Tony for Best Book for a Musical and Best Musical amid controversy, as the production was a musical cabaret-style revue without original book. The production was also nominated for a Drama Desk for Outstanding Revue.
A Grand Night For Singing was conceived by Walter Bobbie as a tribute to the song writing team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. The off-Broadway cabaret style revue received promising reviews and transfered to Roundabout's main stage in October several months after closing at Rainbow and Stars in the Spring of 1993.
Collection consists of 13 folders covering mostly administrative aspects of the production with minor documentation on set and sound specification. Prompt script and all other documentation detailing the artistic vision of the work (costume and detailed design plans) is absent.
